Chennai: Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi and former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu visited Rajinikanth and wished him speedy recovery.
"I wished him all the best, very soon he will be busy with his work. I told him if he wants to enjoy a vacation he can come to Gujarat, I will take care," said Modi.
Naidu said, "He is recovering very fast. I spoke to him, he is alright. Doctors have advised him to take some more rest."
A hospital update on Rajinikanth's condition said, "He has been advised to stay in hospital for thorough examination to ensure normal health status. A team of doctors, comprising specialists and general physicians, is attending on him, doing necessary investigation and appropriate treatment is being given to him."
"He is cheerful and is being treated in the private ward," the hospital said.
Rajinikanth's vital parameters were normal and he has been advised to restrict visitors totally besides complete rest to avoid "inter-current" infections, it said.
The actor, who suffered from viral fever and exhaustion recently, was admitted to SRMU at suburban Porur days after he was discharged from another hospital where he was treated for allergic bronchitis and viral fever.
Rajinikanth's family had on Friday dismissed as rumours reports that his health had deteriorated.
He had suffered from exhaustion on April 29, the first day of the shoot of his new period film 'Rana' co-starring Deepika Padukone, which is being directed by K S Ravikumar.
He was admitted to Isabel Hospital in the city and discharged the same day, only to be re-admitted there on May 4 for allergic bronchitis and viral fever.
