HDFC Equity buys 24 L shares worth Rs 109 crore in SBBJ

Mumbai: HDFC Equity Fund on Tuesday acquired over 24 lakh shares of State Bank of Bikaner and Jaipur (SBBJ) in a deal worth Rs 109.5 crore through open market transaction.

As per the bulk trade data available on bourses, HDFC Equity Fund picked up 24.27 lakh shares of the bank.

The shares were purchased at an average price of Rs 451 apiece aggregating the deal size to Rs 109.5 crore.

Meanwhile, in separate bulk deals, five entities including their shareholder Chenab Energy sold a total of 42.8 lakh shares of SBBJ for deals valuing at Rs 193 crore.

Chenab energy offloaded its entire stake of 8.4 lakh representing 1.2 percent stake in SBBJ for Rs 37.84 crore.

The other entities which sold the shares were -- Daljita Financial & Technical Services, Benhill Finance, Camilla Investments and Wellmark Investments.

Shares of the bank were up 0.44 percent to end the day at Rs 454.95 apiece on the BSE.
