Ranbir replaces Akshay as Sajid Khan’s favourite

Mumbai: After the success of two blockbusters ‘Heyy Babyy’ and ‘Housefull’, Sajid Khan is all set to direct Ranbir Kapoor in his next venture. Sajid is well known for his comedies but the buzz has it that his next film will be an “emotional action entertainer”, as he puts it. Sometime earlier, talking to a news daily, Sajid said, “My next film will not be a comedy but it’s going to be a fun entertainer, an action adventure. That is all I can reveal at the moment because it’s still too premature to talk about it. We have not finalised the star cast and there is a lot of work as far as scripting goes too. I like to give more time to my pre-production and be well prepared before I actually start shooting. Even with ‘Housefull’, my pre-production took almost 18 months and we finished shooting the film in just 63 days.” Apparently now, he has discussed the story with Ranbir Kapoor and the chocolate boy has said ‘yes’. But, a formal announcement is pretty much on the anvil. The film not only casts Ranbir Kapoor, instead of Sajid’s favourite Akhshay Kumar, but also will be produced by Vashu Bhagnani and not Sajid Nadiadwala. However, after this emotional drama, Khan will be directing sequel to ‘Housefull’ for Sajid Nadiawala. The project is to be on the floors next year.
