`Our India show will be like a movie`

Backstreet Boys is set to make India`s music lovers groove!

New Delhi: On first ever India tour, one of the biggest selling groups of all time, Backstreet Boys is set to make the country`s music lovers groove promising that the show will resemble a movie, something their fans have never witnessed before.
One of the most popular boy bands during the 90`s with hits like `Quit playing games`, `Straight through my heart`, Backstreet Boys will be the headlining band at the annual Rock `N India musical festival rubbing shoulders with singer Richard Marx and other premier Indian acts. "The show will be a combination of songs from our newest and old albums, which will run for 2 hours long. Some of the songs are `Show me the meaning`, `Backstreet`s Back`, `As long as you love me`, `Quit playing games` and many more fan favorites. There will be a lot of dancing involved, it will be more like a movie, a very theatrical show, something we`ve never done before," Backstreet Boys told reporters. Originally consisting of AJ McLean, Nick Carter, Brian Littrell, Howie Dorough and Kevin Richardson, Backstreet Boys presently exists as as a four-piece group after Richardson`s departure in 2006 to pursue his other interests. But what took the American band, which was formed in 1993 so long to visit the country? "It`s been a crazy 17 years...trying to fit everything in. We are just happy to finally be heading to India. We just want to have a good time and if we are having a good time that illuminates and the fans have a good time," said the group which will perform in Delhi on February 20. The journey of Backstreet Boys has seen its highs and lows with a three year hiatus and Nick launching a solo career. However, they insist the band never broke up and the feeling of being together persisted. "It was not difficult at all for us to reunite. We never broke up, we just took a break. We knew we`d be back together to record....We just needed a little break. It wasn`t a matter of if, but more a matter of when," the group said. "We definitely have grown up. We aren`t the young kids anymore. We are more involved in our business, etc, but we still love to have fun," they added. The Grammy-nominated group, which has 7 studio albums to date and has sold over 130 million records worldwide are also excited about their upcoming album `Playlist: The Very Best of the Backstreet Boys`. "The album is something which is truly sensational, and we are sure all our fans will love it..!The Playlist has an amazing track listing of songs. We hope the fans enjoy it," the Backstreet Boys said. Not ruling out collaborations with Bollywood and Indian artists, the group said, "We are always open to new things. If it feels right, then why not? Sure, bring them down to the show, the more the merrier." "We have some more touring to do, but have plans to start working on the next record really soon. Hope everyone is ready," they added. Backstreet Boys will also be performing in Bengaluru at the music music festival, which has hosted rock bands like Megadeth, Iron Maiden and Machine Head in the past has shifted the tone of music this time, focusing on a wider range of fans, from mainstream to classic rock.
