Arshad Warsi to turn director with a Priyanka-Abhishek starrer

Mumbai: After carving a niche for himself with some of the most memorable roles, Arshad Warsi is all set to take on the challenge of directing a movie. And the actor plans to dedicate this entire year to learning the nitty-gritty’s of the trade in order to take on the directorial mantle next year. Buzz has it that the actor is dedicating his first directorial effort to superstar Amitabh Bachchan’s ‘Zanjeer’. And even though the entire cast of the film is yet to finalised, industry is abuzz with reports that Arshad’s directorial venture will have Abhishek Bachchan and Priyanka Chopra in the lead. Titled ‘Akadd’, the film will is set to go on floor next year. Confirming the news, Arshad said, “I’m ready to direct and the film called Akadd. It will be very realistic quirky action comedy. I won’t be beating up 25 people in the film. The style of acting, dialogue delivery, the actors’ body language would all be life-like. The heroine’s role is very, very important.” When asked as to why he didn’t consider his favoruite co-star Vidya Balan for the role, Arshad said, “I wish. But the role doesn’t suit Vidya at all. We’re looking at someone else.”
