Court asked to ban `Sach Ka Samna`

The row over `Sach Ka Samna` reached the Delhi HC on Thursday.

New Delhi: After an uproar in parliament and a show cause notice from the government to a TV channel over `Sach Ka Samna`, the row over the controversial reality show reached the Delhi High Court Thursday, with a petition saying its content is against Indian values and morality. The public interest litigation was filed by Deepak Maini who demanded that the show be banned.
Maini in his petition alleged that the programme posed obscene questions to the contestants and cited the example when a woman was asked in her husband`s presence if she had a physical relationship with another person. When she said no, the polygraph test said the answer was wrong. Earlier Thursday, the information and broadcasting ministry issued a show cause notice to the TV channel after furore in the Rajya Sabha Wednesday. The ministry has sought a reply from the channel by July 27. Many MPs demanded that the show should be banned. IANS
