Jennifer Aniston splashes out $450K on painting at Haiti fund-raiser

Jennifer Aniston has splashed out 450,000 dollars to win a bidding for a painting at Christie’s ‘Artists for Haiti’ auction.

Washington: Jennifer Aniston has splashed out 450,000 dollars to win a bidding for a painting at Christie’s ‘Artists for Haiti’ auction in New York City.
Boyfriend Justin Theroux did the bidding on her behalf, which landed her American artist Glenn Ligon’s ‘Stranger #44’, an abstract 2011 work of oil, charcoal and graphite on canvas. According to an ‘Artists for Haiti’ representative, though the picture was estimated at 150,000 to 200,000 dollars at the auction, Aniston helped break the record for sales of Ligon’s work, spending the whopping amount on the 72” by 60” painting. “Aniston, who was in the room, clapped enthusiastically after [Theroux’s] winning bid,” Us Magazine quoted Artinfo.com as reporting. The auction raised a total of 13,662,000 dollars from the biddings, and the proceeds are expected to benefit the health and education initiatives for Haiti. ANI
