London: Women never change, it seems. One in three won`t go out of the house without applying make-up, a study has revealed. The study has found that most females don`t feel confident enough in their appearance without their war paint -- in fact, six out of 10 wear make-up every day, no matter what they`re doing, where they`re going or who they`re seeing.
One in three always put make-up on, even if they are just popping out to the shops. And 10 per cent would rather sleep in make-up than let their boyfriend see them without it, the study, based on a survey of 3,000 women, found. Sara Wolverson, Director of beauty at Superdrug, which carried out the survey, was quoted by the `Daily Express` as saying, "For many women, putting their make-up on is an important part of the day. The thought of people seeing them without it can be horrifying. Make-up is a great confidence booster, it can conceal any blemishes you are self-conscious about, especially in front of a new boyfriend. "It can also help to highlight your best features and make them stand out." Moreover, the study found that the average woman would wait two-and-a-half months into a relationship before showing their natural face to their boyfriend. More than a third were convinced their boyfriend wouldn`t have fancied them if they hadn`t been wearing make-up when they met. And 14 per cent would get up before their other half to "put their face on". Six out of 10 women would not go to work without make-up, with 23 per cent believing they would get ignored for a promotion, the survey found. PTI
