Russell Crowe pulls out of film on Bra Boys

London: Oscar-winning actor Russell Crowe has stepped out from a new film about the infamous Bra Boys gang at the request of his wife Danielle Spencer.
The `Gladiator` star insisted that his wife was unhappy with his involvement in the project, which would trace the fictional account of Australia`s unruly `family` gang`s clashes with the New South Wales authorities almost two decades ago, a website reported. "I stepped away from that. It`s not something my wife is comfortable with me approaching," said the 47-year-old actor. Crowe was inspired to develop the project after watching the 2007 documentary `Bra Boys: Blood is Thicker Than Water`, which was written and directed by the members of the gang. "Whatever was encapsulated in that documentary is not really the full story and the longer you wait the more things happen. I wasn`t actually directly attached to the film, but my involvement helped the producers get their own idea off the ground," he said. PTI
