BBC to pay ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ stars

British TV show ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ has offered to pay stars by dance.

London: British television show ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ has offered to pay stars by the dance in a bid to make the show more exciting.
Now competitors in the BBC One ballroom dance show could earn up to 100,000 pounds if they reach the finals, and others could earn 10,000 pounds if they resign early. The move is to ensure that contestants are not paid large sums for only a few appearances. “This is a way of rewarding those who do well rather than paying one big lump sum. It makes sense and will act as a healthy incentive,” the Mirror quoted a show source as saying. BBC chiefs are keen to recreate the success of last year’s series, which attracted up to 13 million viewers. They will raise the weekly budget from last year’s 400,000 pounds to attract more stars.
