Producers intend to show `Joker` to Sunita Williams in space

Farah Khan says they intend to show the movie to astronaut Sunita Williams in space.

Mumbai: Looking forward to the release of her husband Shirish Kunder`s most ambitious project `Joker`, choreographer-turned-producer Farah Khan says they intend to show the movie to astronaut Sunita Williams in space.
In order to beat all promotional gimmicks, producers UTV Motion Pictures are in talks with The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) to work out logistics to screen the film at the space station for astronaut Sunita Williams. "We are planning it...We are trying to do it (show the film to Sunita Williams). UTV is trying to get this done. As our movie is about UFO, so it is apt to show the film to her. We are in the middle of the discussion but there is lot of red tape," Farah said. "They (producers) wanted to show it up there (to Sunita in space). But I think you need to take permission one year in advance. The process is going on," she said. The Indian-American astronaut Sunita Williams docked Russian spacecraft at the International Space Station for a four-month space expedition on July 17. Directed by Shirish Kunder, `Joker` is a fantasy-adventure film starring Akshay Kumar, Sonakshi Sinha, Shreyas Talpade, Minnisha Lamba and others. The movie revolves around a village called Paglapur which lacks basic facilities like water and electricity. No one is ready to solve the problem, so in order to attract attention Akshay Kumar creates drama involving aliens. "We are taking aliens to meet different people. This film is very much different and it requires out-of-the-box ideas to promote it. We wanted to build curiosity about the film, about the aliens. The songs will release on July 27 on internet and July 29 on TV so we are hoping that people will like it," Farah said. Produced by UTV Motion Pictures, Farah and Shirish`s production house - Three`s Company and Akshay Kumar`s Hari Om Entertainment, `Joker` releases on August 31. PTI
