`Spice Girls` producer looking for Indian talent

Eliot Kennedy is looking for some Indian talent for a new all-Asian girls band.

New Delhi: The `Spice Girls` are one his most famous discoveries and now producer Eliot Kennedy is looking for some Indian talent for a new all-Asian girls band.
The band will bring together five "beautiful and talented" singers from China, Japan, Korea and India. And Eliot, a Grammy Award winning songwriter, who has worked with international artistes like Celine Dion, Aretha Franklin, Robbie Williams, says that success is guaranteed. "We look at this as an opportunity for these girls to become ambassadors of their countries and showcase their talent to the rest of the world," said Kennedy. Called `Project Lotus`, the search aims to find, train, groom, form and launch a global and international Pan-Asian girl band, aka the Asian Spice Girls. The Indian leg of the talent hunt will be spearheaded by music composer Shamir Tandon and Manish Porwal of the Alchemist Talent solutions. "Project Lotus will not only award true talent but will also give a never seen before global platform to the girls. This is the first time that English singers in India will be given an opportunity to create history," said Tandon. Auditions for the show will happen in Mumbai, Kolkata, Delhi and Bangalore. The five finalists will be flown to Hong Kong to meet and train with finalists from the other countries. A 14 part series, Project Lotus will be aired on Zee Cafe. PTI
