‘The Libertines’ fan bids £20k for reunion ticket

A fan of English rock band The Libertines has bid a whopping 20,000 pounds for a ticket to their reunion show later in August 2010.

London: A fan of English rock band The Libertines has bid a whopping 20,000 pounds for a ticket to their reunion show later in August 2010.
The group separated in 2004 as lead singer Pete Doherty battled addictions to heroin and crack cocaine, but announced in March 2010 that they were to reunite for two shows at the Reading and Leeds festivals in August. Recently they confirmed their first reunion would be a warm-up gig on 25 August 2010 at London venue The Forum, and in a bid to prevent touts, secret passwords to buy tickets for the gig were allocated to fans in an online raffle, reports The Daily Express. After the winners of the draw were announced, many of them immediately put their password information up for sale online, sparking off a bidding frenzy. A seller on eBay managed to get a bid of 20,000 pounds before the sale closed. ANI
