New York: Former New York governor Eliot Spitzer apparently was so keen to be on the small screen that he accepted a contract from CNN for less than 1 million dollars to host a prime-time show.
According to a source, Spitzer is making closer to 500,000 dollars than 1 million dollars, as is his co-host, Kathleen Parker. Insiders say CNN isn`t spending a lot on talent for the 8 pm show because its chances for success are slim. MSNBC`s Bill Wolff, executive producer of "The Rachel Maddow Show," recently turned down a hefty offer from CNN to produce Spitzer`s show after MSNBC made him a substantial counteroffer. "We don`t comment on contracts," a news daily quoted a spokesperson for CNN as saying. ANI
