‘Glee’ concert movie coming to US theaters

A movie based on the ‘Glee Live’ tour will be released in cinemas soon.

Washington: It has emerged that a concert movie based on the ‘Glee Live’ tour will be released to cinemas this summer.
Studio 20th Century Fox TV is to produce the project - which features songs performed by Lea Michele, Chris Colfer, Dianna Agron, and the rest of the cast - for a two-week limited release in the US from August 12, with other worldwide dates yet to be set, reports a website. It is expected to follow in the footsteps of fellow concert movies `This Is It!` featuring the late Michael Jackson and Justin Bieber documentary `Never Say Never`. Kevin Tancharoen, who directed the 2010 version of musical `Fame`, is helming the project, which will also feature backstage footage. The tour - which features 14 original cast members - is currently running in the US, before heading to the UK in late June. `Glee` has been a huge ratings hit for Fox, with its stars recording albums and performing in their own right since the start of the show. It is currently in its second season, and Matthew Morrison - who plays teacher Will Schuester - recently confirmed a character would die at the end of the series. ANI
