Mumbai: Actor Vivek Oberoi has landed himself in a major trouble along with his father, actor Suresh Oberoi. Apparently the Oberoi’s issued a cheque worth Rs. 3 crore that bounced which lead to a metropolitan magistrate court issuing a non-bailable warrant against the father and son duo. Apart from Vivek and Suresh Oberoi, four other members from board of directors and a manager from Oberoi Mutimedia Ltd have also been accused for the same. The complaint was filed by Jawaharlal Agicha who is acquainted with Suresh Oberoi`s relative and company`s MD Anand Oberoi and its manager Anil Lalwani. They had requested him to provide financial assistance for the company`s brand promotion in India and abroad. According to Agicha`s complaint, Oberoi’s company had asked financial assistance from him for promoting various Indian brands. In order to induce him, he was allegedly given a proposal of issuing Bill of Exchange and post-dated cheques as repayment of the Rs 3.9-crore loan. Agicha had received only Rs 50,000 in January 2010 via cheque. Whereas, the Union Bank of India cheque worth Rs 3 crore bounced. According to Agicha’s lawyer Solanki Chaula the cheque was dishonoured by New India Co-op Bank, Versova, with the remark `account closed`. The matter was registered in court on December 2010. But Vivek and his father remained absent at the hearing. After the duo’s repetitive absence at the court hearing, the court allowed Agicha’s application to issue a non-bailable warrant against them.
