Mumbai: Ramesh Taurani, producer of ‘Race 2’, had earlier called Deepika Padukone ‘unprofessional’ and her act of quitting his film ‘unethical’. However, calling the actress names has not been able to satiate Taurani’s feeling of being let down. The filmmaker has gone all the way to file a complaint against Deepika with Cine & TV Artistes Association (CINTAA). Deepika Padukone had shot for the film for six days, and then walked out of it. She has also received a message from CINTAA regarding the complaint filed by Taurani. Speaking to a daily, a source close to Taurani has revealed, “He did not want to take such an extreme step. He waited for Deepika to change her mind. But she was adamant. She was not interested in doing ‘Race 2’ anymore.” “If Taurani has filed a complaint against Deepika and he has a contract, she will have to honour the dates which she had allotted to him. If she has given the same dates to any other producer, she cannot shoot for the other project,” said senior producer Pahlaj Nihalani, in conversation with a daily. According to the rules laid down by CINTAA, if an artiste fails to respond to a complaint filed against him/her, then he or she has to then take it up with FWICE (Federation of Western India Cine Employees). Once the case is forwarded to the FWICE, the artiste is required to adhere to the decision of FWICE; else he/she is liable to face an NCD (Non-Cooperation Directive).
