Indore, June 23: A flat once owned by Bollywood film star, Salman Khan`s father and film script writer, Salim Khan at Twin Tower Complex in the Palasia area here has become a bone of contention with two persons staking claim on it.The two persons, who are claiming to be the owner of the flat Number 501 in the Twin Tower Complex, are Mirza Amanullah Khan alias Gullu Mian who is the nephew of Salim and a local businessman, Devendra Agrawal who purchased it two years back from Nayeem Khan, who is the brother of Salim, police said.
Originally, Salim owned this flat but when he shifted to Mumbai he had given Gullu a Power of Attorney around 20 years back to either sell the flat or give it on rent. However, Gullu neither sold nor gave it on rent till 2004. Apparently peeved over it, Salim gifted the flat to his brother, Nayeem around four years back. Later, Nayeem sold the flat to Devendra Agrawal in 2007 and when he tried to take possession of it, a dispute for its ownership arose between Agrawal and Gullu. Following the dispute, a case was registered in this regard at the Palasia Police Station who in turn sealed the flat under Section 145 of CrPC. Later, the matter went to the Sub District Magistrate`s court here and on June 18 this month, the court ruled in favour of Agrawal as registry of the flat is in his name and he took possession of the flat. However, on June 21, Gullu along with some persons tried to take possession of the flat forcibly following which on the directive of the Indore Superintendent of Police, Sanjeev Shami, police protection was given to Agrawal.
