Women still prefer staying at home with kids

A new survey says that women prefer to stay at home with their kids.

London: Despite years of equality campaigning, a new survey has revealed that most British women still prefer to marry a man who earns more than them and stay at home with their kids if possible.
Sixty-four percent said they aspire to find a husband who brings home a larger pay than they do. And 69 percent said they would prefer to stay at home to look after their children if money was not an issue, reports a daily. Only 19 percent wanted their other half to be better educated than they are. Instead, 62 percent said they wanted a man to have the same level of intellect. The survey follows a controversial research previously published by Catherine Hakim of the London School of Economics, which claimed more women are choosing to ‘marry up’ by picking wealthy men for their spouse than in the 1940s. Now, a YouGov survey of 922 women, aged between 18 and 65, which was conducted for the Sunday Times, has backed Hakim’s claims. ANI
