Sensex fails to maintain 28,000-mark
The BSE benchmark Sensex failed to hold the key 28,000-mark Wednesday as investors booked profits in financial stocks, which led the declines.

New Delhi: The BSE benchmark Sensex failed to hold the key 28,000-mark Wednesday as investors booked profits in financial stocks, which led the declines.
The 30-share index fell 66.51 points to end at 27,984.37. The NSE Nifty too ended lower by 18.80 points at 8,659.10.
The Nifty Bank index snapped a three-day rally and ended 0.43 percent lower, with ICICI Bank down 1.9 percent and State Bank of India 0.6 percent lower. ITC dropped 2.6 percent.
