`The Japanese Wife` is Rahul`s best film: Konkona Sen Sharma

Konkona Sen Sharma believes that ‘The Japanese Wife’ is Rahul Bose`s best film so far.

Mumbai: Konkona Sen Sharma believes that ‘The Japanese Wife’ is Rahul Bose`s best film so far."I think this is Rahul`s best film. This is a very poignant, sweet and sad love story. It`s very unusual. This kind of film we don`t get to see always," said Konkona who worked with him in ‘Mr & Mrs Iyer.’
‘The Japanese Wife’ is about three people - Snehamoy Chatterjee (Rahul Bose), an arithmetic teacher in a school in the interiors of West Bengal, his pen friend Miyage (Chigasu Takaku) and Sandhya (Raima Sen), a widow who takes refuge in his home. "It`s a funny film because there is a Bengali boy who is in love with a Japanese wife and neither of them speaks English. So the conversation is so funny. I think people will enjoy it. I hope so," Konkona told reporters at the premiere of "The Japanese Wife" here Wednesday. Asked if she expected her mother would select her in place of Raima, Konkona said: "I think that Raima has done a very good job. You can`t expect that every time she (Aparna) will repeat same actors and same actresses. I have already done three films with her and am sure will do many more." Eight years after Rituparno Ghosh`s ‘Titli’ (2002), Konkona will be seen with her mother once again in ‘Iti Mrinalini.’ "My next film is `Iti Mrinalini`. It`s also mommy`s film. That`s about a life of an actress where both of us are acting together," said Konkona. IANS
