SJVN pays Rs 101.28 cr dividend to Himachal govt
Shimla: State-owned Sutlej Jal Vidyut Nigam (SJVN) has declared a total dividend of Rs 397.12 crore for 2012-13 and paid dividend of Rs 101.28 crore to Himachal Pradesh government against 25.5 per cent equity share in the company.
The SJVN had paid dividend of Rs 99.17 crore to Himachal last year.
CMD SJVN also requested the state's Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh to allocate more projects to SJVN in Himachal, according to an official release.
The Chief Minister responded in positive to the request and assured to consider SJVN favourably for allocation of projects including Khab Hydro Electric Project.
Handing over the cheque to Chief Minister, Virbhadra Singh the Chairman-cum- MD of SJVN, R P Singh informed that the Company had earned a net profit of Rs 1,052.34 crore during the financial year 2012-13.
The SJVN declared a total dividend of Rs 397.12 crore for 2012-13 which is 2.1 per cent higher than the last year's dividend of Rs 388.84 crore.
The dividend works out at 96 paise a share of Rs 10 each.
Since financial year 2004-05, when flagship project of SJVN Nathpa Jhakri Hydro Power Station started generating electricity, SJVN has paid Rs 643.15 crore as dividend to HP government.
