New Delhi: Shantanu Mehra of designer duo Shantanu-Nikhil feels that television doesn`t have shows dedicated to fashion and hopes "I Love Style" will help in filling the gap.
"In the beginning, there were not too many broadcasting channels doing fashion segments. It (`I Love Style`) is not a reality show. It`s just about as fashionable as it can be in terms of style statement. It`s different from other shows," Shantanu, the elder of the two brothers, told IANS. The duo launched their label in 1999 and styled celebrities like Bollywood actors Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan and American tennis star Serena Williams. From power dressing to corporate clothing, the designers will explore all the aspects of fashion in the show. With the understanding of growing needs of comfortable fashion among people, the designers will give a distinct style quotient to models, celebrities and college-goers on the show that went on air Monday on Big CBS Love. "We are associated as designers to a segment called `Karmik Stylishes`, it`s a new pret of Indian ethnic line of the brand Kimaya," said Shantanu. "We are just giving certain tips on the look and style, some tips on how to wear an evening dress, how to be a new age bride, how to transform from traditional lehanga to western gown or dresses or red carpet gown, and how these things are becoming special and new in fashion world," he added. Other popular names from the fashion world, who have been signed up as mentors for the show, are Rohit Bal, Anamika Khanna, JJ Valaya, Rocky S, Gaurav Gupta, Ranna Gill, Rina Dhaka, Abraham and Thakore, Neeta Lulla, Kavita Bhartia, Ankur and Priyanka Modi.
