London: A copy of the Beatles hit single ‘Please Please Me’, signed on both sides by the Fab Four, is to be auctioned for up to 7,000 pounds.
The seven-inch record, signed on both sides by John, Paul, George and Ringo, will be sold at the Liverpool Institute for the Performing Arts. The other articles put up for sale in the annual Beatles Convention include photographs of the Fabulous Four at the Sunderland Empire, with a cap belonging to John Lennon expected to fetch 4,000 pounds, the BBC reported. Among the list of unusual items is a compulsory purchase order issued for the Cavern Club before it was filled in with concrete in the early 1970s and a piece of its stage, estimated to fetch around 1,800 pounds. A telegram addressed to "Mr G Starkey" sent by comedy film star Peter Sellers to Ringo Starr on August 21, 1968, is also among the 322 articles to be auctioned. ANI
