`Desperate Housewives` star arrested for drink driving

London: `Desperate Housewives` star Ricardo Chavira has been arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol.

The actor, who plays Eva Longoria`s husband Carlos Solis in the hit show, was stopped by police in Los Angeles in the early hours of Wednesday morning, reported TMZ. Chavira was stopped at a routine checkpoint at around 2am when an officer smelled alcohol on his breath. The 39-year-old took part in a field sobriety test, which he did not complete to the officer`s satisfaction. Chavira was arrested after refusing a breath or blood test and he is currently being held on USD 25,000 bail. Chavira is a father of two, and has been with wife Marcea Dietzel for 22 years. He plays one of the longest running characters in `Desperate Housewives`, with his other TV credits including `Six Feet Under`, `NYPD Blue` and `City Of Angels`. PTI
