London: Hollywood actor Nicolas Cage showed his softer side after he ditched a movie wrap party to chat to a homeless fan standing outside.

The `Ghostrider` actor became acquaintances with the vagrant while filming the upcoming adventure film "The Sorcerer`s Apprentice" in New York City, as the man often stopped by the set, reports contactmusic.com. Cage expressed his gratitude for the support by snubbing the movie`s wrap party at New York night club Greenhouse to chat to his new friend last week when he and producer Jerry Bruckheimer both "went outside and spent a lot of time with the man.
