Michael Eavis has decided to step down as the boss of Glastonbury music festival in 2011.

Washington, June 23: Michael Eavis has decided to step down as the boss of Glastonbury music festival in 2011.A farmer by profession, Eavis launched the acclaimed event his land in South West England in 1970.
He will be handing over his responsibilities to his daughter Emily and his and son-in-law Nick, who has taken a more prominent role in the event`s organisation in recent years. However, Eavis is adamant he still wants a part in planning the festival. "I still feel I have an important role to play. Even if I go I`ll worry about the drains, the rubbish, the recycling," Contactmusic quoted him as saying. "There will be a gradual process of her and Nick taking it over," he added. Eavis, who was named as the UK`s second most influential music boss in a recent poll, will preside over this year`s (Jun09) festival, which sees Bruce Springsteen take to the main stage. ANI
