New Delhi/New York: Indian-American entrepreneur Vinod Khosla hosted a dinner for US President Barack Obama at his house in Portola Valley on Thursday.
Obama dined with Khosla, his wife Neeru and his four children at the “intimate” dinner hosted by the latter. Khosla is the co-founder of Sun Microsystems. In 2004, he launched Khosla Ventures, which is known for investing in next-generation energy companies such as biofuels maker KiOR.
This was part of Obama’s fundraising visit. Tickets to the event came at a whopping cost of USD 32,400.
Obama had dropped by Flipboard CEO Mike McCue’s Palo Alto home Thursday evening.
Tickets to the McCue event were priced at USD 2,500 while getting a photo with the president came at a cost of USD 5,000 per person or USD 7,000 per couple. VIP seating was priced at USD 12,000 per person or USD 15,000 per couple.
