Mumbai: Bollywood actor Manoj Bajpai said his forthcoming film ‘Dus Tola’ is very rare in our time, as the film was unveiled here recently.
Directed by debutant director Ajoy, the film stars Aarti Chhabria, veteran Marathi theatre actor Dilip Prabahvalkar, Siddharth Makkar, Govind Namdeo, Asrani, Ninad Kamath, Bharti Achrekar and newcomer Pallavi Sharda. “As soon as I heard the narration, I realised that the film needed to be shot immediately because this is a film which is very rare in our time. This is a film, which has become a rarity in terms of making. People don’t get to see those films and an audience is something - that they don’t like or dislike any genre unless you give it to them,” Bajpai said on Thursday. “I somehow realised I needed to be a part of this film, I needed to take up this opportunity to prove it to myself that I can do these kind of stories, and take this type of a folktale to the audience as they don’t get to see these films,” he added. The film is based on a folktale. It is set in a small town of Sonapur and is about a local goldsmith played by Bajpai, who is head-over-heels in love with his neighbour’s daughter Suvarnalata (Aarti Chhabria). The match is opposed by her father. Bajpai said that the movie would pull audiences to the theatres because of its novelty and its narrative. Bajpai`s characters sets out to overcome devious plots and heartaches in the film. Bajpai sought the support of the media for the success of his film. “Today, I can say that I am proud of my experience that I had in ‘Dus Tola’. I am proud of this huge, little film ‘Dus Tola’ and I just hope that you find it interesting enough to cover it really well,” Bajpai said. The film has been produced by Aryan Brothers. Famed Indian lyricist Gulzar has penned down the lyrics for the film, which has been put to music by Sandesh Shandilya. The film is scheduled for release on October 22. ANI
