China's current account surplus rises to $306 bn in 2010

China's current account surplus jumped 25 percent to USD 306.2 billion from one year earlier, the country's foreign exchange regulator said Monday.

Beijing: China's current account surplus jumped 25 percent to USD 306.2 billion from one year earlier, the country's foreign exchange regulator said Monday.

The capital and financial account surplus hit USD 165.6 billion last year, compared with USD 109.1 billion in 2009, the State Administration of Foreign Exchange said.

In the fourth quarter of 2010, China's current account surplus -- the difference between total exports of goods, services and transfers, and total imports of them -- rose 13 percent year on year to USD 102.2 billion, news agency Xinhua reported.

Further, China's capital and financial account surplus amounted to USD 83.5 billion in the fourth quarter.
