Washington: Co-star and director Tom Hanks, who played a prank on actress Julia Roberts while shooting their new film ‘Larry Crowne’, recorded the whole act on camera and is using it to promote the film.
Hanks had asked everyone on the set to knit with needles and skeins of yarn, just to catch Roberts’ interest in the act. He called on everyone to gather up before the actress showed up for work and take a quick lesson in knitting so that everyone had known what they were doing when his leading lady arrived. The prank turned out to be a success as Roberts was amazed to see the entire cast and crew stitching and purling. In fact she tipped all of them on how to better their skills. Later on, even Roberts expressed her surprise. “You walk into a room and 65 men are knitting; it catches your attention,” Contactmusic quoted her as saying. ANI
