Hong Kong: Feng Xiaogang`s war film ‘Assembly’ was the big winner at China`s Golden Rooster Awards, clinching best film, best director, best cinematography and best music.In the every-two-year awards announced late Saturday in Nanchang, the capital of southeastern Jiangxi province, Feng`s story about the heroics of a People`s Liberation Army unit during the Chinese civil war in the 1940s shared the top prize with Chen Kaige`s profile of late Peking Opera star Mei Lanfang, "Forever Enthralled."
Best actor went to Wu Gang, who played a legendary oil worker in "Iron Man."
One of China`s top actresses, Zhou Xun, shared top female acting honors with Jiang Wenli. Zhou played a taxi driver looking for her missing boyfriend in "The Equation of Love and Death." Jiang was honored for her performance in "And the Spring Comes," a drama set against economic changes in China from 1988 to 1998.
Wang Xueqi won best supporting actor for "Forever Enthralled" and Yue Hong was named best supporting actress for the drama "A Tale of Two Donkeys."
