Nausheen plays a marwari woman

Nausheen is making her TV comeback with ‘Beend Banoonga Ghodi Chadhunga’.

New Delhi: After playing the girl-next-door in ‘Kkusum’, actress Nausheen Ali Sardar is returning to small screen as a typical Marwari woman in ‘Beend Banoonga Ghodi Chadhunga’. She says her character is of a traditional housewife who believes women should work only at home.
"`Beend Banoonga Ghodi Chadhunga` is a male-dominated story because it reflects the groom`s point of view. The groom here is Jay Poddar, played by Anuj Thakur and I am playing his mother Santosh Poddar. She believes that women should be educated, but they should not work because, for her, if both the spouses will work than who will take care of home," said Nausheen. "Santosh is a traditional Marwari housewife who loves to follow tradition. For her, everything is in black and white and there is no scope for gray," said the actress. In "Kkusum", Nausheen played a hardworking middle-class girl who gets married to a rich guy. The show, which will go on air Monday on Imagine TV, is about a Marwari guy falling in love with a girl who wants to be a doctor. Was it a tough decision to accept a role which was older than than her age? "I don`t think so. The whole thing is that I am not just playing the mother because if that would have been the case, I would have never taken it. It is one of the main roles of the show as the whole conflict arise among Jay, Sarika and Santosh. Also, my character is not that old as Marwari`s get married at a very young age," said the actress. "My son Jay falls in love with a girl called Sarika who wants to be a doctor. The conflict arises when she gets married in a family where women are not allowed to work. And this is how the story moves," said Ali. Also, the language is different from normal Hindi and Nausheen is still learning it. "I am still learning. The production team has provided me a person on the sets who makes me understand small details about it. The channel has also done a lot of research," said the actress. Was it difficult to make a comeback after five years when people still remember you with "Kkusum" image? "Yes, I am making a come back on TV after five years because I was working with a film called `Three - Love, Lies and Betrayal` opposite Aashish Chaudhary. People didn`t see me on TV, so they were wondering where I am gone? Also it`s always a positive sign to make a comeback where audience remembers you for your previous roles otherwise there are many actors and actresses who start from scratch after making a come back," said the actress. Ali, who was seen in Sony Television`s reality show "Mr. and Mrs. TV" and "Arrange Marriage" on Sahara Samay, would like to participate in singing reality shows. "I have been getting lots of calls, but I didn`t take reality shows like `Big Boss` because I was not comfortable doing that. Instead, I like shows which are adventurous and showcases the hidden talent like `Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa`, `Nach Baliye`, but wait - I am not going to take part in those shows because I am not a dancer. May be I will go for some singing reality shows because I love singing," said Ali while denying rumours of getting married to boyfriend Prashant Chainani. IANS
