Paris/New Delhi: Labour Ministry of France might soon pass a law thereby allowing employees to ignore work emails at home.

Labor minister, Myriam El Khomri, is all set to include this provision in a reform package that she is going to unveil in the coming weeks.

The provision talks about giving right to workers to ignore professional emails and other messages when they are off work.

Though France follows a 35-hour week working pattern, many employees work overtime due to fear of losing job amidst the global economic crisis.

It should be noted that the French government expects a re-draft of the 3,800 pages of the labour code to take years, a revamp of the 125 pages on working hours will be presented to cabinet on March 9.
