Success just happens and is boring to talk: Shah Rukh

New Delhi: Want to know what the superstar of Bollywood has to say about the mantra for success? Well its simple...There is absolutely no mantra to success, it just happens and often from the wrong decisions, says iconic actor Shah Rukh Khan.

"Success just happens, it is not an experience from which we learn or gain. There is no mantra or formula for it and it is boring to hear success stories," said Shah Rukh, who was in the Capital recently to host a quiz show for IIPM. "You take a lot of wrong decisions in life to learn from failures and then succeed," the actor added. Recalling his early days of struggle in the film industry, Shahrukh said he did a number of films just to avoid the embarrassment of being unemployed. "To be very honest, whatever happened to me happened because I am really scared of failure and I have seen a lot of failure. Most of my initial films were ones discarded by other actors and producers could not find anyone else to do them. I did them all just to be employed," he said. "Success is not the direct result of our action, if it happens on its own, we take credit for it and that`s the funny part of it. But all of us should experience failure in some fashion to succeed," the charismatic star said. Talking about films, Shahrukh says his forthcoming `My Name is Khan`, directed by Karan Johar is very different, apart from the fact that it marks the return of his popular onscreen pair with Kajol, after a hiatus of eight years. "My Name is Khan is a very interesting film. I play a Muslim living in America and the perception that I am faced with post 9/11. It`s not about secularism, anger or destruction though," said Shah Rukh. The versatile actor confirms he is set to return to the genre of action films, something which he has stayed away from since his shoulder surgery, with `Ra.One`, where he is playing the character of a superhero. The Bollywood `Badshah` is also hopeful of a revival of fortunes for his IPL venture, which has been an outright flop so far, quite unlike his films. "I am the last of the Kolkata fans alive I think, but jokes apart, we will be meeting soon to try and figure out issues and hopefully we will win, at least a few more matches, next year," said Shah Rukh. Shah Rukh also admits he is delighted to be in his hometown, Delhi. "I love to come back to my hometown," he said. Bureau Report
