Beyonce’s hometown to honour her with monument

Washington: Beyonce’s hometown of Houston, Texas, will pay tribute to the pop star by building a monument in her honour. Developers at Armdeonce Ventures are designing a statue, which will highlight the 30-year-old singer’s life and showcase memorabilia from her career.
“Our biggest thing is a lot of people get honoured when they die, so our goal is to why not honour people why they’re still here? We felt as though it’s her time to be honoured. We wanted to construct, like, a massive hall so as the doors open, if you donated to the monument, you’ll have a separate nameplate,” a website has quoted Marcus Mitchell, CEO of the company as saying. “There will be clips of Beyonce with Destiny’s Child and wardrobe like a mini museum. We’ve gotten support from the city of Houston, from the mayor,” he said. Proceeds from the site will be donated to a number of charitable organisations, including Music for America and Beyonce’s Survivor Foundation, which offers relief to victims of natural disasters. Bosses are hoping to unveil the project this year on Beyonce’s birthday i.e. 4 September. ANI
