`Quick Gun Murugan` to tickle TV audience now!

`Quickgun Murugan` is set to tickle the funny bone on the small-screen.

New Delhi: After its rendezvous with the celluloid, the comic character `Quickgun Murugan` is set to tickle the funny bone on the small-screen but with a twist.
Popular comedian Suresh Mennon will be donning the role for the TV audience but this time it will be known as `Quick Gum Murugan`. As Sab TV`s show Maniben.com starring Smriti Irani and Nitin Vakharia completed it 200 successful episodes, the makers thought of doing something different and added a new character--a detective inspired by Quick Gun Murugan. The character in the show has never succeeded in cracking a case as he suffers from forgetfulness but still considers himself a great detective. He speaks with a South Indian accent, is always chewing gum and his favourite one-liner is `Find it!`. Suresh, who is all excited to re-team with the makers of `The Great Indian Laughter Show` for Maniben.com, said he is happy to be back on a sitcom after a long time. "I started my career with TV and after a long gap I am back. I have a special liking for south Indian characters and Quick Gun Murugan has almost become iconic with the audience. I hope they love my take on the character, a south Indian version of Pink Panther`s French police detective Jacques Clouseau," Suresh told reporters. "I am overjoyed as we are celebrating 200 episodes completion of Maniben.com. We have added various interesting twists to the show and ours is the only show which has introduced over 300 characters. We are all set to add more fun in the show with entry of Suresh Menon enacting the part of Quick gum," said Smriti. Smriti and Suresh will be seen together doing a show after almost two decades. Their first stint together was for a show called `Tea Time Manoranjan`. PTI
