Pete Dohetry arrested for cocaine possession

Rocker Pete Doherty has been sentenced to six months in prison for possession of cocaine.

London: Rocker Pete Doherty has been sentenced to six months in prison for possession of cocaine, after a film showing him smoking the drug with film maker Robyn Whitehead the day before she died, emerged.
He was arrested with fellow musician Peter Wolfe over the death of Whitehead, but Wolfe admitted to supplying her with crack cocaine as opposed to a postmortem examination that found she died from heroin poisoning, reported a newspaper. Doherty, 32, who has previously made 13 court appearances and has been jailed twice for the same offence, wasn`t given any atonement by the judge. "You have an appalling record of committing offences of the same kind as I have to deal with in this case. It cannot be right that time and time again, the fact that you are a talented musician, and the fact that you provide what you do in terms of work for others, is justification for not sending you to prison," Judge David Radford said. Doherty was due to perform in Glasgow before he was arrested on Thursday. PTI
