London, May 22: `High School Musicals` star Zac Efron believes that it is time for his girlfriend, actress Vanessa Hudgens to shed her "goody-goody" image by going nude for a movie. The 21-year-old actor has reportedly encouraged Hudgens to do a steamy magazine shoot or strip for a movie role to shed her "teeny-bopper" image, Femalefirst reported.
"Zac is making the leap to A-list actor and he wants Vanessa to go along with him. He believes it is a good way for her to get beyond the teeny-bopper stigma," a source close the actor told National Ledger.
"He said if she has to bare more of her body, then she shouldn`t be afraid of doing that." And it seems that the 20-year-old actress is also warming up to the idea. She admits that she is open to the idea of baring all for the camera if nudity was essential to the role.
"I will show nudity in a film when the time is right. Right now, I wouldn`t feel comfortable doing it. When the time`s right, if it`s an amazing movie that I`m really passionate about and that`s what it calls for, then we`ll see," Hudgens had said.
The actress may have shown reluctance for on screen nudity but her explicit photos have already appeared online.
In September 2007, pictures of her in lingerie as well as one naked shot were leaked online. The Disney star later apologised for the images, saying she was embarrassed and
regretted having "taken those photos".
