Kolkata: Slovenia on Tuesday said the proposed India-EU free trade agreement (FTA) is an indispensable tool for new cycle of economic relation in the region.
"India-EU free trade agreement (FTA) is an indispensable tool for new cycle of economic relation for the region and Slovenia is part of it," Slovenian Ambassador to India, Janez Premoze said here today at an interactive session with MCC Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
India-EU FTA negotiations are still underway.
He was optimistic about the bilateral trade with India despite slowdown in 2010-11 to USD 276 million.
"I expect the trade figure should double in the next three years," Premoze said.
Meanwhile, Slovenia was planning to open visa collection centres in metro cities to felicitate issuance of European visa.
