Washington: English rock band Muse has been voted as the best ever performance on the stage at Britain’s legendary Glastonbury music festival.
‘The Supermassive Black Hole’ hitmakers has topped the list with their 2004 headline set on the ‘Pyramid Stage’ seven years later after the online poll conducted by Nme.com, reports Contactmusic. “People were sceptical initially about Muse as headliners. They were a bit: ``MCCartney, Oasis, Muse? Hmmm.`` But it was like: ``You watch!`` And it really blew people``s minds,” Contactmusic quoted Emily Eavis, Glastonbury organizer, as saying. “It was the best performance of that year. Everyone in that audience was like, ``What is this?`` And so it was like probably the ultimate booking,” she added. Music fans also rated Radiohead, Sir Paul MCCartney, Blur, David Bowie, Pulp and Stevie Wonder among their top acts at the festival. ANI
