Jackson fans call on his mother to scrap tribute show

Michael Jackson`s fan club bosses have joined forces in a bid to prevent the upcoming tribute concert to the King of Pop from happening.

London: Michael Jackson`s fan club bosses have joined forces in a bid to prevent the upcoming tribute concert to the King of Pop from happening. In an open letter to the late pop star`s mother Katherine and the other event organisers, the 35 fan club officials have urged them to cancel the show, scheduled to take place in Wales in October, reported Daily Express.
They fear the concert, which will feature performances by Christina Aguilera, Cee Lo Green and Beyonce, is "doomed to fail". Fans appear to be upset about the timing of the event, during Jackson physician Dr Conrad Murray`s manslaughter trial, and the one-time addition of rockers KISS. The band`s performance was scrapped after devotees reminded organisers that bass player Gene Simmons had made ill-advised remarks about Jackson`s child molestation charges last year. A post on the Fans Against Michael Forever Tribute Facebook page reads, "From the timing of this tribute, in the middle of Dr Murray`s trial, to the ticketing prices, to the obscurity over what charities will be receiving the donation, to the no-guarantee policy of performers, the addition of Gene Simmons and dishonouring, thus tarnishing Michael Jackson`s legacy was simply the last straw."
