Nooyi, Shah attend G8 luncheon at Camp David
Camp David: Two Indian Americans - Raj Shah and Indra Nooyi - were among the few special guests invited by US President Barack Obama to a G-8 luncheon discussion at the Camp David.

Shah, the USAID Administrator and PepsiCo Chairman Nooyi were invited to participate in the luncheon discussion of the G-8 leaders with African leaders Saturday.

The four African leaders invited to the special luncheon discussions were Jakaya Kikwete, President of Tanzania; John Evans Atta Millls, President of Ghana; Meles Zenawi, Prime Minister of Ethiopia; Boniyayi, President of Benin and chairman of the African Union.

Speaking on the occasion, Obama said this is probably the first time there was a gathering at a G8 summit where there were business leaders involved.

But he said that's necessary if they're going to make any progress on these issues.
Obama said they'll be "looking for a range of innovative ideas."

"My hope is that coming out of this meeting we are going to be able to then each of us have assignments that we have to execute," Obama said, adding that they will spend most of their time on food security but was sure participants might want to bring other topics.

Nooyi and Shah were seated with other staffers.

Obama said his goal is to go beyond agreeing on the importance of the issue and the enormity of the challenge.
