`Chupke Chupke` shooting to start in 2014

Mumbai: Umesh Shukla, who has been been approached to wield the megaphone for cult comedy ‘Chupke Chupke’ remake, says the camera will start rolling for the movie next year as nothing is finalised yet.
"The talks are on and the film is in its initial stage. I just had one meeting with the team and nothing has been finalised yet. I haven`t even signed the film yet," Shukla, who brought onscreen an interesting battle between a human being and the almighty with ‘Oh My God’, said. "Right now I am busy with my film with Abhishek Bachchan, so the next film will go on the floors by 2014," he added. Hrishikesh Mukherjee`s 1975 release `Chupke Chupke` had a host of stars - Dharmendra, Sharmila Tagore, Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya Bachchan - who shared screen space with veteran character artists like Om Prakash and David as well as fine comedian Asrani. All of the them created such a magic on the screen that even today the clean comedy entertains movie aficionados, especially with the hilarious Hindi-English war between Pyare Mohan and his boss. "It`s a wonderful concept and I really liked the idea. We need to work a lot on the script. I don`t believe in the concept of remakes, so it will be more of an adaptation of `Chupke Chupke`," said Shukla. There were reports that Sharman Joshi will step into Dharmendra`s shoes, while Manish Paul will play Amitabh`s part. But Shukla didn`t confirm the names, saying: "We have not even started working on the script, so forget about casting. I don`t know where these rumours come from. I have high respect for Sharman and Manish but nothing has been finalised yet." IANS
