We don`t need cricket to promote films: Arjun Rampal

Arjun Rampal says the film industry doesn`t need cricket to promote films and that they help each other to create awareness.

Mumbai: Actor Arjun Rampal, who did a series of ads for the upcoming ICC World Twenty20 with his ‘Housefull’ co-stars, says the film industry doesn`t need cricket to promote films and that they help each other to create awareness. "We don`t need cricket to promote films. Cricket and film are two huge entertaining industries. Cricket is a religion in India and film industry, I believe, is the only form of entertainment. It`s a very natural thing. People understand both," said Arjun
"...we don`t need each other to promote each other, but yes, we help each other to create awareness. We are comfortable with both so we are releasing the film during (ICC Twenty20) World Cup," said Arjun. ESPN Star Sports and Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment have tied up to promote the upcoming ICC Twenty20 World Cup and multi-starrer comedy ‘Housefull’ -- both are opening April 30. The tournament will be held in West Indies April 30-May 14. The prying eyes of media had spotted Arjun teaching cricket to his co-star Katrina Kaif on the sets of director Prakash Jha`s film ‘Raajneeti’. But he brushed it off saying: "I was just giving her some idea about cricket because she didn`t have much knowledge about the game. She has started taking interest in cricket. So I thought I should teach her batting," said Arjun. IANS
