Portman, Holmes to be honoured for philanthropy

London: Hollywood actresses Natalie Portman, Jennifer Garner and Katie Holmes are set to be honoured by Variety for their involvement with charitable causes.
The actresses are among seven women in the entertainment business who will be feted at Variety`s annual Power of Women luncheon in Beverly Hills, California on September 30, reported a news website. "By honouring this incredible group of high-profile women who are leading the charge, we hope to inspire and empower everyone within our industry - and throughout the world - to get involved and give back," said Michelle Sobrino, Variety`s associate publisher. The seven honourees have been chosen for their charitable efforts in a variety of causes. The recipients include actresses Natalie for her charity FINCA, Amy Adams (Ghetto Film School), Garner for Save the Children, Holmes for Dizzy Feet Foundation, Diane Lane (Heifer Intl.), Eva Mendes (Art of Elysium) and Management 360 founding partner Suzan Bymel (Global Creative Forum). Variety, who presents the awards in partnership with Lifetime and Lifetime Movie Network, said they honour the women in hopes of inspiring others within the entertainment industry to get involved and give back.
