Mumbai: According to the latest buzz, actress Deepika Padukone has replaced Southern beauty Asin in Ashutosh Gowariker’s next venture. Recently, there were reports suggesting that Asin had turned down Gowariker’s film perhaps because the role wasn’t meaty enough for her. But guess Dips doesn’t have any problem in taking up something like that, for the actress seems super excited for her role and has even started preparing for the same.
Initially, Gowariker was very keen on roping in Asin for his period flick ‘Khelenge Hum Jee Jaan Se’. And after Asin refused, the filmmaker reportedly considered Sonam Kapoor and Genelia D’Souza along with Deepika Padukone for the same, and finally Dips was roped in.
While Asin left the film citing date issues, reports reveal that she opted out of the project only because she’s become very selective about films since her ‘London Dreams’ appearance.
The film will now see Abhishek Bachchan and Deepika Padukone in lead roles.
