New Delhi: Arshad Warsi is keen to step back into the shoes of Babban, the lusty goon from the hit film `Ishqiya` in a sequel and says that he has a "very strong feeling" that a second outing is indeed in the pipeline.
The reports of a second instalment of the film, which won both critical and commercial acclaim, have been doing the rounds for quite some time now and Warsi is keen on another adventure in the badlands of Uttar Pradesh, where the movie was set. The film produced by Vishal Bharadwaj and directed by debutante Abhishek Chaubey has been screened at several national and international film festivals. The latest honour to come is the `River to River` festival in Florence. "Actually it`s been touring around a lot. It`s been really liked across the world. It`s been really really appreciated and I have a very strong feeling they are going to come out with Ishqiya Part 2 now. I would love doing that," Warsi, who was in the city to support `Smile Foundation`, a NGO that works with underprivileged children, told reporters. Basking in the success of his latest hit, `Golmaal 3`, the 42 year-old star says that working in sequels burdens one with extra responsibility to better the previous one. "I have to say I am all smiles. But it`s always scary when you do sequels, because you have to get better everytime and it get tougher and tougher with every film," said the actor. But the actor says that he was sure that `Golmaal 3` will hit jackpot at the box-office. "I knew this would do well because when I read the script, I felt it was really funny and I just hoped that it translates on to the screen and people find it funny as well," Warsi said. 2011 will see Warsi in three projects, `Dhamaal 2`, `Faltoo` and another untitled film. The `Munna Bhai` star says that he chooses movies on his "gut feeling" but based on the vision of his director, he likes to innovate his role. "When I meet the director and feel that the director and the script are in sync with each other, then I`ll be a part of that film. I know that a bad director can ruin even a film with a good script," said the actor. PTI
