Vishal Bhardwaj plans a biopic on female underworld dons

Bollywood’s young and talented director Vishal Bhardwaj plans to adapt S. Hussain Zaidi’s book ‘Mafia Queens of Mumbai’ for his next celluloid outing. After the super duper success of ‘Saat Khoon Maaf’, Vishal plans to helm another riveting piece of cinema after adapting Chetan Bhagat’s ‘2 States’. When contacted, Vishal’s spokesman said, “Yes, Vishal has definitely bought the rights of one of the stories from the book.”

Mumbai: Bollywood’s young and talented director Vishal Bhardwaj plans to adapt S. Hussain Zaidi’s book ‘Mafia Queens of Mumbai’ for his next celluloid outing. After the super duper success of ‘Saat Khoon Maaf’, Vishal plans to helm another riveting piece of cinema after adapting Chetan Bhagat’s ‘2 States’. Buzz has it that Vishal plans to adapt one of the chapters from ‘Mafia Queens of Mumbai’. Talking to a daily, a source said, “Vishal was extremely excited about the stories in S. Hussain Zaidi’s book and has even written the foreword for him. He particularly liked the story of one of the underworld female dons.” “However, he plans to make the film once his film ‘2 States’ with Shah Rukh Khan, finish shooting. Since ‘2 States’ is not scheduled to go on the floors at least till the end of the year, Vishal has decided to work on the scripting of this film and will make it post ‘2 States’. He is yet to decide on the cast of the film and will take a call once the script is done.” When contacted, S. Hussain Zaidi confirmed the news and said, “Yes Vishal has got the rights of one of the chapters of my book, but I can’t reveal any details. You will have to speak to Vishal for the same.” Meanwhile, Vishal’s spokesman said, “Yes, Vishal has definitely bought the rights of one of the stories from the book.”
