Sydney: Yahoo CEO Marissa Mayer has been criticised for demanding to review every single new recruit’s credentials.
A Yahoo Inc employee told a UK-based news agency that Mayer has challenged her staff to get better at recruiting.
According to the report, the meeting reflected wider concerns about Mayer''s heavy involvement in Yahoo''s recruitment processes, including personally reviewing every new recruit.
Critics have said her high standards, which include excluding candidates without degrees from prestigious universities, meant Yahoo has missed out on potentially excellent employees, the Herald Sun reports.
Last month, Mayer sparked corporate controversy worldwide by declaring that Yahoo employees are no longer allowed to work from home.
The move caused further controversy when it was revealed that she paid to have a nursery built next to her office for her six-month-old baby.
